MileSplit
The MileSplit results data requires that for each result, you send the MileSplit Athlete ID and the MileSplit ID for the team they are on. To accomplish this, the registration spreadsheet you use to create athletes and teams in Race Day Scoring must originate from their site.
Importing Participants
To produce the export file, use this selection at the MileSplit site after registration closes.
On the next page, click either the "Download Entries" button or the "Entries" tab (both lead to the same location).
On the right side of the entries page, there is a list of file formats in the "Download all Entries" section. "Download to CSV" is located at the bottom of that list. Clicking this will automatically download all entries into a CSV file that Race Day Scoring is expecting.
After you have downloaded the CSV data, open the file using Excel if you want to add additional columns. You mustn't change the columns from the downloaded data. You only need to add a column for team type when the race has multiple team classifications. You can add other columns as well, such as bib number.
It’s important that you use these steps for each import –
- Download the data from MileSplit
- If it’s not the first iteration, delete all participants and teams – there is an “Action” item for this on both the Participant and Team view.
- Use the Import button.
After you select the file to import, these mappings should default. In this example there were extra columns for Team Type and Bib Number.
After the data is imported, you will see the athlete ID on the Registration tab:
And, you’ll find the team ID when you edit the team data:
Reporting
There is a specific report section dedicated to the MileSplit data export. If you have any races within the meet that run boys and girls together, be sure to use this setting in the Scored Event Team settings:
Create a separate report for the MileSplit export. Select the MileSplit section for every scored event where you have results you want reported. In the case you have multiple team classes, you’ll need to add a section for each team type. If you have the team scoring setting for Separate Report Sections by Gender, a male and female section will be automatically created for you.
To produce the MileSplit export file, use this option.
