RaceDay Scoring supports the creation of a results file that can be uploaded to the Athletic.NET results platform. Please note that this is not the same as the AthleticLIVE results platform.
Requirements:
- Team Scoring set up on your Scored Events, with the "Cross Country" setting enabled.
- A Report whose sections are all "Team Finisher List" sections. We recommend one section for each race in a single Report.
- A Score column on that Report. Without it, the export stops and tells you to add one.
- Knowledge of the Athletic.NET Event IDs and Division IDs.
- Results collected.
This is supported via an option in the Report view > Export dropdown, for any Report on a Scored Event that has Cross Country Team Scoring enabled. Every section in the Report has to be a "Team Finisher List" section. If you mix in another kind of section, such as TFRRS or Overall, the Athletic.NET button does not appear.
Athletic.Net Export Setup asks for an Athletic.Net Event ID. That ID sets the file name to alive_results_<event_id>.csv.
You can enter the Event ID and each section's Division ID before you have results. You do not have to export a file to store them.
Each Division ID field is labeled with that section's name. One export file can include every Team Finisher List section, each with its own Division ID. You do not have to export and upload each race separately.
Save stores the IDs and closes the dialog. You see "IDs saved successfully." Closing the dialog, including Cancel, keeps what you typed. Export to csv keeps them as well. The next time you open Athletic.NET, the IDs are filled in. They are stored on the report, so a race backup takes them to another laptop.
Clear blanks every ID and leaves the dialog open. You see "IDs cleared." Use Clear when a renewed meet has new Athletic.Net IDs. Athletic.Net assigns new division IDs for each meet, so last year's values will be wrong if you leave them.
Removing a report section drops only that section's Division ID.
All results will be in a single csv, but each report section will have the different Division ID that can be associated with the participant results.
Including unattached runners
Team Finisher List reports leave out participants who are not attached to a team, so unattached runners are missing from the Athletic.NET file as well.
To include them, open your report, go to Filters and Sorts, and check Allow Unattached Participants. Do this before you create the export. Unattached runners appear on your overall results either way, which makes the gap easy to miss.
What is in the file
Each row contains Place, First Name, Last Name, Gender, Grade, Team, Time, Division, and Score.
The "School Year field" will be used as the School Grade field in the export that is created.
Finish times are written as minutes, seconds, and hundredths. They use chip time when the Scored Event is set to score by chip time.
Statuses appear like this. A runner marked DQ or DNF has a blank Place, with DQ or DNF in the Time column instead. A runner marked DNS has DNS as their Place, and a runner marked DROP has Drop as their Place.
Once you have exported to CSV, follow the instructions at Athletic.NET to proceed with uploading this file to their platform.
